Keselowski Favored to Win Daytona 500

The 60th edition of the Great American Race is set for this Sunday as motorists get ready to kick off another exciting season of the Dragon Energy NASCAR Cup Series in the Daytona 500.
Online sportsbooks are offering odds on who will take home the checkered flag, using a comfortable face driving the No. 2 Ford Fusion on peak of the oddsboard at Brad Keselowski. BetOnline has Keselowski listed as the favorite in +700 to top the podium at Daytona.
A Driver Has Not Won The Daytona 500 In Back-To-Back Years Since Sterling Marlin Accomplished The Feat In 1994 And 1995.
He had three first-place endings last year and will be starting in the 19th place on the monitor. It’s worth noting that Keselowski hasn’t finished higher than third in this race in his profession.
Last year’s winner, Kurt Busch, is listed at +2200 to win the Daytona 500 again although the probability of a repeat winner makes him a huge long shot. A motorist has not won this race back-to-back years because Sterling Marlin accomplished the feat in 1994 and 1995.
Joe Gibbs Racing has two drivers near the top of the oddsboard in Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch. Hamlin, recorded at +1000, won in 2016 in what is considered the most striking finish ever at the Daytona 500 and placed sixth in 2017. He won only two races last year so if bettors are not persuaded by his accomplishments, then they might wish to think about his or her teammate.
Busch is listed at +1200 and has yet to break at this race but he did make it to the podium at 2016 when he finished third. The younger Busch brother won five races a year to go along with nine other top-five finishes.
Alex Bowman might be a popular alternative as he replaced Dale Earnhardt Jr. at the 88 car and certainly will be in the pole position on Sunday. However, the pole winner has not won the Daytona since Dale Jarrett at 2000 so there’s a motive Bowman is recorded at +2800.
Last, the driver who won the inaugural Monster Energy NASCAR Cup, Martin Truex Jr., is recorded at +1400. Truex finished second in this race in 2016 and has been dominant last season, posting five wins among a whopping 19 top-five finishes. If momentum is any variable, Truex might be in line to win his first Daytona 500 in his career.
